The studio behind Aniimo has revealed the results of its community design contest, “An Aniimo Made by You!”, and the payoff for the winners goes well beyond the prize money. Every winning creature is set to enter the live game during Global Launch, turning fan concepts into creatures other players can encounter in Idyll.
The team described the event as one of its most challenging contests to date, drawing 600 distinct creature designs from players around the world. Out of that pool, twelve entries rose to the top.
Two designs took the headline Strongest Bond Award, each earning a $999 gift voucher: Jaguaraun, submitted by Itallo, and Xylos, submitted by Evil_Listic.
Ten more earned the Shining Aniimo Award and a $400 gift voucher apiece: Christopher, ASPIWING (Nara_Kagami), Angray, rimea_ice (Peace_Wing), Dolcano, Sean_Patterson, Matteo_Macorin, Icleby, Cybertooth (Brendan_Colcord), and Frostuff (duarte_alcobia).
With these creatures slated to roam at Global Launch, the contest doubles as an early look at how player-made content may feed into Aniimo’s growing roster.
What this means for players (editor’s take): once these twelve designs go live, they are not just trophies, they become creatures you can actually run into in Idyll, which means studying the existing roster now is a reasonable way to get a head start on a launch lineup that the community helped build. Treat this as a sign that the catalog you learn before launch is meant to keep expanding.
